Kimberly J. Desmond is an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Her research interests include school counseling, diversity issues, play therapy, mentoring, narrative therapy, and solution-focused counseling.

Dr. John McCarthy is an Associate Professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the Counseling Department. He directs the Center for Counselor Training and Services (http://www.iup.edu/ce/CCTS.html), a primary purpose of which is to offer regional workshops to area mental health professionals and graduate students. His interests include cognitive therapy; professional help-seeking attitudes and behaviors; motivational interviewing; and adolescent depression. Dr. McCarthy is licensed as a psychologist in both Pennsylvania and New York State. He is also certified in cognitive therapy through the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy.
